The Tennessee Titans are adding veteran linebacker Daren Bates back to their practice squad, a source told

Bates was a mainstay on their special teams the past three seasons, before he exited at the end of the 2019 season in free agency. Bates signed with the Houston Texans in August in the final days of training camp, but was released after a short time there.

The Titans are likely not done making moves, as they will have to make a corresponding move from the practice squad to create a spot by either releasing a player or calling one up from the practice squad to the active roster.

One possibility is that with Adoree' Jackson out, the Titans might look to bring veteran cornerback Tye Smith back to the 53-man roster in time for Monday night's season opener at Denver.
