The Tennessee Titans have signed cornerback D’Joun Smith to their practice squad to fill the vacancy created when they moved rookie Kalan Reed from the practice squad to the active roster.

Smith was a third-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2015, but played in only four games during his rookie season due to a season-ending knee injury.

Smith came to camp with the Colts this summer, but was let go in final cuts.

The Detroit Lions then signed him to their practice squad, where he stayed until being let go two weeks ago.

The former Florida Atlantic cornerback was the team’s MVP in 2013 as a junior and the defensive player of the year in 2014.

He was the 65th overall pick in last year’s draft.
