The Tennessee Titans did a bit of roster work a day ahead of their preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night.
The Titans waived former Vanderbilt wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb and project offensive lineman Adam Coon, who was waived injured.
To replace them on the roster, Tennessee added safeties Tedric Thompson and Reggie Floyd.
Lipscomb was buried on a crowded wide receiver depth chart in Titans camp and had not shown a lot of flashes during training camp.
Coon was an interesting topic during mini-camp when the Titans signed the former collegiate wrestler, who was trying to transition back to football, which he had not played since high school.
Thompson has measurable NFL experience. Thompson, a fourth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 out of Colorado, played three seasons before spending 2020 with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Floyd spent time in training camp last year with the Arizona Cardinals, as an undrafted free agent from Virginia Tech.
